"The Young Lords"

This series is dedicated to the Young Lords Organization. A Puerto Rican activist group founded in Chicago. With a chapter opening in New York in 1969. Taking inspiration from the Black Panthers, the Young Lords organized directly in Latin communities, challenging slum housing conditions, providing "serve the people programs" that offered food, health services, and child care, and staging dramatic takeovers of neighborhood institutions.
